![]() Holy Smokes!! It's been over 2 months since I worked on my business! As you may have gathered in some of my earlier posts, I have a day job as a computer programmer. Of course, my job has to come first while making a successful business. Well, it turns out that I got completely engulfed in day job and my business venture just had to wait.. My goal was to be profitable in 3 months, but it looks like I missed the mark! So, today we hit the reset button AND we start this journey again with a twist. I now have a partner and together we will work this business and get back on path to 90 Days to Profitability. Much as happened in the last two weeks since I did a reset. My new partner and I have accomplished the following:
Over the next few days, I will be revealing all the pieces in more detail on what we did to get this far. If you get anything from this post, ,know that it's okay to hit the RESET button. If you miss your goal, hit reset and try again! So, on that note, this is Day 1 Take 2 of 90 Days to Profitability! ![]() Welcome back folks! If you followed me this far, you know that I'm forming a plan that I can follow. On Day 2, I added a new sleep schedule that should open up a time slot for working my business. After all, all talk and no action leads to--you guessed it--nothing! I already know that I want to build a Print On Demand business. For those of you who don't know what that is, I'll explain--in short. In a Print On Demand business, you come up with a design for tee-shirts, mugs, tote bags, and many other products that can be produced by another company who prints your design on the product and ships the product out to your customer for you. This means you don't have to keep inventory and can concentrate on putting out new products. I see this as a short term solution to getting a product store up and running. So, with this in mind, I"ll expand my Plan:
This love of the Stars inspired my first brand, "Wonders of the Universe," and so that is what I'm concentrating on. The plan may seem a little haphazard, but I think it hits on some highlights of activities that I need to do. Christian Sean Caspers~Picking a niche and building products on that niche let's you target a specific audience for your products.. ![]() Thanks for joining me on Day 2 of my 90 Days to Online Profitability. If you haven't read yesterdays article then please feel to click here to catch up on my journey. As you ,may recall, on Day 1, I said that I needed a plan in order to build a successful business. I don't know what the plan will have in it, but one of the first things that came to mind was that I have to set aside some time each day to "work" my business. Making a plan is great, but unless you move it along from an idea to a written plan, you will go nowhere fast. To that end, I knew that I needed to change my daily routine to include activity that would run my business. So, thinking about what takes up my time--I'm a computer programmer with a full-time job. That means that I'm fully engaged weekdays in my career and, sometimes, work overtime.. I am also married with 2 dogs and a cat. I don't know what it takes to raise kids, but I do know know that just having pets and my wife are enough to keep me quite busy. Perhaps some of you out there with kids can share with us how you juggle daily activities while taking care of children. Anyway, I have other interests, which I can talk about in future posts, but for now, know that taking care of home, wife, and a job are my main concerns.. Adding a business venture into my top daily activities means I need to set aside some dedicated time for that business. The key for me, then, is making a daily time slot that I can dedicate to my business. After thinking about my sleep habits, I decided to go to bed earlier, around 11:00 PM and wake up earlier, around 5:00 AM. After doing a little research, I see that it can take around 21 days to form a habit. That's a lot of time in my first 90 days of building a business, but it is necessary if I am to succeed. Now, I'm not really a morning person; so, on that note, I know that the first 21 days will be difficult. However, I will start to practice this new time schedule. So, here is the start of my Plan:
Start this incomplete plan immediately... Now, you should know that I'm not going to sugar coat anything I write here. You are following me on my journey, which includes: the good, the bad, the ugly, the small victories, and the huge triumphs. So, to that end, today, I will share with you that I missed my mark of getting up early; however, I did go to bed at 11:00 PM instead of 2:00 AM or later! So, keeping in mind that a habit takes time to form, I know that I can only strive towards doing a better job tomorrow. I know this plan is only a start, and I have about 3 weeks to start forming new habits. So, if we learn anything, it's that building a business, or achieving any worthwhile goal, takes time. Hang with me as I add to my plan and work towards my goal of building a successful online business. Feel free to comment about this post or even your own experiences. Until then, be safe and journey well! Christian Sean Caspers~Making a Plan is the first step in builiding a successful online business. ![]() When I was about 11 years old, I was enthralled with the prospect of making money in a business. I got sent all kinds of offers for starting a home income. Being 11 years old, I had little experience with real-world money-making solutions. One day I got a letter that told me to copy this letter, add a $1 and mail it out to a list of people. I should expect to see cash rolling my way! Being 11 years old, I thought it sounded great! Well, I never did see any money. I learned, then, that not everything you try will succeed. I did know, however, that I would keep trying! Of course, today, we know that this was just one of many money-making-schemes out there in the "real world." I never stopped trying though. "I have not failed. I've Just Found 10,000 ways that won't work." ~ Thomas Edison So, over the years, I tried many money-making systems. I've seen some success along with many failures. I will never let my failures stop me from success. Fast forward to today and I'm ready to take many of the positive ideas, techniques, and systems learned to make a successful online business. I'm sharing my journey with you so that you can, hopefully, follow a path less bumpy. So, one thing I learned in my years of getting anything done in life is that you need a plan. The plan also needs to be flexible. I don't know what my plan will look like yet, but to get started, I'm going to give myself a challenge.
